Deck Chronicles: Summer Don't Leave Me

Yesterday was such a wonderful day it was almost unbelievable. The weather, the scenery, Bella and Appy and of course your occasional flies getting into the house, were all just wonderful. I really wish the weather could stay this way. But the seasons have to change for a reason.

I'm not the type to ditch certain colors or garments when the weather starts getting chilly. I always take a few pieces that can remind me of those hot summery days. Although I am a winter baby, I do love the heat. Who doesn't?

What's funny is I'm not even a dress kind of person but some things I just can't let pass me by. I am all for maxi style dresses with a split. A little leg action never hurt anyone. You can see Bella wanted to be in my picture again. She is such a diva.

Moral of the story is to always take a piece of something that reminds you of the good days without looking back. Makes sense?

What are your favorite summer pieces?

Wednesday Asthetic

It is finally Wednesday. Do you guys know what that means? Empire and a whole bunch of other intriguing shows air tonight, yay! Not only am I excited for my daily shows, but hump day means that there is only two more days left until the weekend. Since Monday and Wednesdays are my short days, I decided to enjoy a breeze on the deck with Bella and Appy.

I have a love/hate relationship with this New York weather. One minute I am freezing and the next I am fighting to take my coat and sweater off. It makes entirely no sense. I wish the weather could just stay 70 degrees at least for a few more weeks, but I guess I can't have everything.

Smile Bella. She kept barking at my camera, I guess she was jealous she wasn't in the picture so I had to pick her up. Please ignore my mean mug, I was actually in a great mood.

The look you give the person sitting next to you who keeps coughing.

I'm thinking of starting an entire series involving this couch. We compliment each other well.

I am finally back and able to post regularly scheduled posts. What did you guys do today?

Five Things To Make Your Best Friends Birthday Bad Ass

I love birthdays! All the preparation, planning and anticipation is truly fun for me. I know I'm not the only one. I like to act like I'm a good decorator when I'm not, but I can plan the hell out of a party. Candy, balloons, colorful drinks and lots of sparkles are ideal party settings.

Here are a five items to make your best friends or any of your home girls birthdays bad ass.

Silver Number 24 Inch Party Balloons are to die for! I had these at my 21st shindig because I brought them myself (I know I'm crazy). But who cares, they gave a nice accent to the atmosphere. If someone tells you that they don't want these balloons, they're lying.

Mini Party Crown Set is the cutest! Crown everyone at your best friends party (well only the people you like). For only $14 spice up the party with these crowns.

These Okay Party Sunglasses are what every party needs. These are the type of glasses that I would wear everyday and be unbothered. For only $8, purchase these for your best friends birthday and place them on her after she had one too many.

I love all lights that don't come directly out of a lamp. This Rotating Mini Prisma Light is perfect to put in the VIP section of the party. It can be perfect for the selfie wall. Cool right? I know.

If you already own a mini Polaroid camera, spice up the photos with some Fujifilm Instax Mini Rainbow Film. A picture tells 1000 words.

How do you party plan?

Products To Try: Lipstick Queen Frog Prince

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince

For my Products To Try segment I wanted to feature Lipstick Queen's Frog Prince lipstick.

Lipstick Queen products are all gluten-free and only contain waxes, oils and pigments. And no these lipsticks contain no lead. If you're someone who loves to try new lipsticks constantly, this segment is for you.

Green lipstick? Not quite. Guess again. Queen Frog Prince's lipstick is the ideal "mind f**k**." Excuse my french, but that is the only way to describe this. No, it does not turn your lips green but instead it creates a "custom perfect pink." Is this not the coolest? The lipstick turns your lips an ideal pink that matches your natural lip color. No more worrying about pinks being too pigmented or too dull, you now can achieve an even balance with Lipstick Queen.

If you aren't someone who likes pink, Lipstick Queen has an array of different color lipsticks. Jungle Queen,  Queen Bee and the Bête Noire shades are just a few of my favorites. They also have gift sets priced at $48 that you can give to all of your lipstick loving friends for their birthdays.

Have you tried Lipstick Queen products? If so tell me in the comments!

Barneys Fall Wishlist

Do you often browse the internet and create dream shopping trips in your head? I do it everyday. The reason is because I just love clothing that much, but it also allows my imagination to run wild. I can create scenarios and events in my head that I want to attend and dress myself. Great hobby right? I know.

Check out my Barneys Fall Wishlist of items that I think every girl needs in their wardrobe.

Comme des Garçons PLAY Stripe Long Sleeve T-Shirt

Avalilable in both red and green, I just adore this shirt. It is so simple yet so not simple. You can wear this to dinner, brunch, a fashion event and wherever else. I would wear this long sleeve t-shirt with a pair of trainers and a pencil skirt. How would you rock it?

The Row Haki Wrap Top

Is this top not awesome? Well, the price tag is kind of hefty but that is why this is a wish list. I'm sure I probably could find an exact version of this top, but I love this one! Once my mind is set on one thing, it's kind of hard to change my opinion.

Designed for workout gear, but who really cares? I would still wear this top out. I'm just that spunky at times. Plus, who really follows the rules anyway? I love this tank because of the color and fit. So perfect for the Fall.

T by Alexander Wang Classic Pocket Tank

Everyone needs a classic tank. T by Alexander Wang Classic Pocket Tank is the perfect loungewear piece. For the days when you don't really feel like getting dressed, you can wear this tank and throw on a leather jacket with some leggings and be on your way.

MM6 Maison Margiela Mixed-Material Platform Wedge Sneakers

Comfort! I am a strong advocate for comfort. These kicks are definitely on my wishlist. They give a sporty vibe but still casual. I would wear these with the first item I mentioned that's on my wishlist. I know, I'm cute.

Nike Air Max Thea Joil Sneakers

Sexy right? I know. Not only are they sexy but they are comfortable. Does it get any better than that? With a rubber waffle sole in a light bone color, you can wear these bad boys anywhere. They are also affordable which is a plus for me.

I hope you all enjoyed my wishlist and comment what store you would like me to create a wishlist for next!

How I Would Style: Fenty Suede Creeper

Untitled #3580

The Fenty Suede Creepers are the epitome of Rhianna herself. Just from this sneaker alone it is evident that Rhianna serving as Creative Director at Puma is going to to be a great thing. I am already expecting her to surpass all expectations.

Here are a few different ways that I would style the Fenty Suede Creepers.

How I would style rhiannas pumas

You can never go wrong with the color black. Black looks good and feels good on anyone. It is known as a slimming color alongside a mysterious one. I paired the suede Pumas with a cropped long sleeve shirt and a knit skirt. This outfit is ideal for a girls night out or even a day of shopping. Comfort is key.

Untitled #3577

For this look I paired the Creepers with a dressed up skirt. This ensemble is ideal for drinks or maybe even dinner with a few friends. I love that the platform on the Fenty trainers give a dressed up casual look to the shoe.

Untitled #3578

For this outfit I added some color. Why? Primarily because I love this skirt from Opening Ceremony. This look can be worn to brunch, the movies or even to gallery hop. I mean who doesn't love to gallery hop?

And last but not least, I would style Rhianna's Fenty Suede Creeper with a leather Rick Owens skirt and biker knit sweater. I personally would wear this to a fashion event, listening party or whatever nighttime events you like to indulge in frequently.

All items are tagged below pictures.

Why Vegan Cookie Dough Is Just As Good

If you have a sweet tooth like I do, then I am sure that you love cookie dough. Well, I ADORE cookie dough. I use to have a serious addiction to cookie dough where I would sneak and eat it at all times of the day. Yes, it was that bad. My mother had to constantly yell at me and eventually just stopped buying cookie dough altogether. What a sad time this was.

Although I've took a slight break from my cookie dough addiction due to trying to lead a more healthier lifestyle, I'm back and I think I have found the Holy grail.

Hampton Creek's Just Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is the cure for a sweet tooth. Not only is it delicious, you can eat it raw! Yes, I said raw. Since the vegan dough is dairy-free and egg-free, you don't have to worry about any health related issues. Go ahead and pig out.

To check where you can purchase this lovely cookie dough, head over to their site.

Being 21 & Not Doing Enough

Being twenty one has it's perks. You're young, you have energy and everyday your mind flows with new vigor and ideas on how you want to save the world. But being 21 also has its lows.

I'm constantly battling the thought of not doing enough. Thoughts like "Shouldn't I be making six figures?" and "Why am I still living with my mother?" are always bouncing around my brain. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful to have a mother who will still support me as I try to figure it all out, but I just feel like I'm not doing enough.

When I get in these moods, I always think about these three things.

1. You're only 21.

Whenever you fall into a funk about not doing enough, remember you are young. Whether you're 21 or older, life isn't short. I know people always say life is short but in reality it isn't. It's very long. Everyday is a new day to do what you want to do.

2. Making mistakes are apart of life.

We are meant to make mistakes. How else can we learn if we don't go through things? You have to understand that in your 20's you are living in mistakeville. Just don't live there forever.

3. Laugh.

Laugh. When all else fails, just laugh. Laughing keeps us sane.

A Guide For The Petite Chicks On The Perfect Pair of Jeans

Finding the perfect pair of jeans is a challenge! Different body types are a beautiful thing but sometimes get tricky when it comes to denim. For my petite girls, we know that finding the right pair of dungarees (do people still use this word?) isn't as easy as people assume. Just because we're small doesn't mean we fit every and everything nicely. Often times jeans are cut way too big for my frame. This leaves me desperately yearning to gain weight just to fit a pair of jeans. Yes, it is that real. We struggle just like any other body type!

Here is a guide for all my petite beauties on how to find the sent from heaven pair of jeans just for you.

Here is a photo from a recent trip I took to Atlantic City in my favorite pair of jeans.

Untitled #3372

Topshop is by far my go-to place to shop for jeans. Priced at $75, these jeans were stitched by God himself for petite silhouettes. They fit comfortabily and give you enough wiggle room to still party without worrying about dangerous rip action. If your petite frame is accompanied by a small waist, these are the jeans for you. Purchase a pair here.

If you're someone who doesn't mind spending a little extra for your denim. Citizens of Humanity jeans are also a great option for petite women. I personally love a little flare with my denim. It also gives the allusion of a more curvier look. If you aren't into the huge bell-bottom appearance, start off with a semi-flare like these babies. I guarantee you won't regret adding a pinch of flare into your life. Change is good. Purchase your pair here

Last but not least. Boyfriend Jeans are a petite chicks bestfriend. I have about four pair and I love them to death. If you are someone who doesn't like to constantly display their petiteness to avoid those "oh my god you are so small comments," then boyfriend jeans are what you need. Don't get me wrong, I am an advocate for my frame but sometimes those questions do get tiresome. Here are a pair of denim jeans to keep you stylish while still feeling comfortable in your body.

I hope this guide was helpful!

Relaxation x Food

I recently took some time out to relax and enjoy the company and wisdom of my mother at a Thai resturuant by our house (Thai by the Sea). If you're someone who enjoys Thai food, you will absolutely love this place. Between working and managing my blogs, I literally have no time for myself (cliche) but true. I sometimes fall into these moods where I don't want to do anything. I get so stuck in trying to stay on top of things between work and everything else, that I forget to have fun and often neglect my friends. I know I'm horrible.

But instead of my usual schedule, I decided I needed to get out of my busy routine and actually take some time to slow down.

Not only was the food delicious, the view was to die for! We ordered the tiger shrimp rolls and sesame wings as our appetizers. Yes I ordered a margarita (it was needed).

As our conversation continued, I said "what the heck" and ordered another margarita. Trust me when I say I don't indulge in these activities often. Everything in moderation is key.

Unfortunately I got so caught up in my refreshing drink, I forgot to snap my entree which was pineapple fried rice with chicken (yummy). But I did remember to get a picture of my desert which was fried ice cream. If you don't know what fried ice cream is, it basically is what it reads, ice cream fried in dough. The best of both worlds!

By the end of the night, I realized that I needed to start engaging in activities other than work. The feeling of not having to worry about anything just for a few hours was great.

Are there places that you guys go to relax? If so list them below, I would love to know!

Three Pairs of Affordable & Stylish Sneakers

If you're like me and enjoy wearing a stylish pair of kicks, this is the place for you. I'm constantly on the hunt for cute and affordable trainers that I can wear both in the day and night.

1. Nike Internationalist suede, leather and mesh sneakers

Price: $105

With a rubber sole, lace-up front and extra cushioning, these bad boys are ideal for day to night wear. I personally would sport these kicks with a white bomber, high waisted denim shorts and a simple white tank. What would you wear them with?

Price: $80

You can't ever go wrong with a crisp clean pair of adidas Originals Superstar Sneakers. These trainers literally go with everything. When I say everything, I do mean any and everything. A lot of people aren't fans of white footwear but I am. White kicks are a staple piece. For only $80, they are worth the mini splurge.

3. Lacoste Graduate Black Clean Trainers

Price: $108

Even though I love white, I love black even more! Priced at only $108, these Lacoste trainers are adorable! They remind me of a cutesy stylish school girl. If you're looking for classic footwear to last you throughout the year, these are the pair for you.

What are your favorite pair of affordable kicks?
