Relaxation x Food

I recently took some time out to relax and enjoy the company and wisdom of my mother at a Thai resturuant by our house (Thai by the Sea). If you're someone who enjoys Thai food, you will absolutely love this place. Between working and managing my blogs, I literally have no time for myself (cliche) but true. I sometimes fall into these moods where I don't want to do anything. I get so stuck in trying to stay on top of things between work and everything else, that I forget to have fun and often neglect my friends. I know I'm horrible.

But instead of my usual schedule, I decided I needed to get out of my busy routine and actually take some time to slow down.

Not only was the food delicious, the view was to die for! We ordered the tiger shrimp rolls and sesame wings as our appetizers. Yes I ordered a margarita (it was needed).

As our conversation continued, I said "what the heck" and ordered another margarita. Trust me when I say I don't indulge in these activities often. Everything in moderation is key.

Unfortunately I got so caught up in my refreshing drink, I forgot to snap my entree which was pineapple fried rice with chicken (yummy). But I did remember to get a picture of my desert which was fried ice cream. If you don't know what fried ice cream is, it basically is what it reads, ice cream fried in dough. The best of both worlds!

By the end of the night, I realized that I needed to start engaging in activities other than work. The feeling of not having to worry about anything just for a few hours was great.

Are there places that you guys go to relax? If so list them below, I would love to know!

Three Pairs of Affordable & Stylish Sneakers

If you're like me and enjoy wearing a stylish pair of kicks, this is the place for you. I'm constantly on the hunt for cute and affordable trainers that I can wear both in the day and night.

1. Nike Internationalist suede, leather and mesh sneakers

Price: $105

With a rubber sole, lace-up front and extra cushioning, these bad boys are ideal for day to night wear. I personally would sport these kicks with a white bomber, high waisted denim shorts and a simple white tank. What would you wear them with?

Price: $80

You can't ever go wrong with a crisp clean pair of adidas Originals Superstar Sneakers. These trainers literally go with everything. When I say everything, I do mean any and everything. A lot of people aren't fans of white footwear but I am. White kicks are a staple piece. For only $80, they are worth the mini splurge.

3. Lacoste Graduate Black Clean Trainers

Price: $108

Even though I love white, I love black even more! Priced at only $108, these Lacoste trainers are adorable! They remind me of a cutesy stylish school girl. If you're looking for classic footwear to last you throughout the year, these are the pair for you.

What are your favorite pair of affordable kicks?

Celebrate The 4th of July In Chic Attire

The 4th of July is always a fun holiday. Quite frankly any holiday during the summer is always fun. The feeling of knowing your about to attend a BBQ with endless food and drinks is truly magical. Having trouble deciding what you're going to wear? Trouble no more. Here are a few ideas catered to each style of girl, that you can recreate yourself.

The minimalist dresser.

I often times dress depending on my mood. Sometimes I wake up and simply want a clean and sleek look, other times i want to add a little more flavor. This ensemble is for the minimalist dresser.

T By Alexander Wang Bomber Jacket - $222

T By Alexander Wang Boy Fit Jeans - $360

Alexander Wang Antonia Sandals - $475

For an alternative, you can grab a pair of Topshop Milo Rigid Skinny Jeans for $70 and Topshop's Hooded Mesh Bomber Jacket for $190.

For the colorless girl.

If you're someone who likes to keep your outfits with absolutely little to no color, this is the look for you.

Zara Basic Jeans - $30

You can easily recreate this look with any black crop top and strappy heels. If you don't know where to purchase these items, simply head over to Zara's website.

For the girl who enjoys some spunk, spunk on.

Spunk doesn't necessarily mean that you have to walk outside in a yellow and purple playsuit, sometimes spunk is just in your footwear.

Gianvito Rossi Caged Lace-Up Sandals - $1,295

Marc by Marc Jacobs denim skirt -$233.56

Any denim skirt in your closet will suffice. Grab a tank top or purchase one from H&M or Uniqlo and you have your 4th of July outfit.

What do you plan on wearing this weekend?

How To Wake Up Early In The Morning

If you're like me, you absolutely hate waking up in the morning. It literally is like a job when waking up. But once I'm up it's a thing of the past. Here are a few tips to get your day started bright and early.

1. Go to bed early.

Seems simple? For a long time this wasn't as simple. I was one of those people who believed that I could go to bed late and face the consequences in the morning (I still sometimes go to bed late). It was actually the 100th time my mother told me that I need to go to bed early is when I finally listened. What would we do without our mothers?

2. Don't eat before bed.

Eating before bed is guaranteed to keep you awake. Why? Your food has to digest. Trying to go to bed on a full tummy is difficult when your laying on a  1/2 pound of food.

3. Make it a habit to get in your bed at least an hour before planning to sleep.

Don't get in bed 10 minutes before the time you want to go to sleep. Let your body unwind and relax.

4. Stay off your phone.

This is the hardest tip. It is said that being on your phone before going to bed is harmful for trying to go to sleep. Try reading a book to settle your mind.

If you follow these steps I'm sure to ensure success at waking up early in the morning!
